Motor Trend American edition came out with information that the next generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution will use a hybrid powertrain technology. According to the publication, Lancer Evolution XI will have a small electric motor, which will replace the turbine, combined with the expected output of internal combustion engine and electric is 350 h.p. From Motor Trend also argue that the hybrid system will be similar to the concept Mitsubishi PX-MiEV, debuted at the recent exhibition in Tokyo, but the 1.6-liter petrol engine will be replaced by an improved version of our familiar 2.0-liter this Lancer Evolution. An interesting feature of this hybrid technology is that it works only when the internal combustion engine, it drives the front wheels, and when they include electrical, he in turn transmit power to the rear. Thus, in extreme situations, the driver can rely on the mode 4×4. Sources from Mitsubishi said the car will be a measured distance in pure electric mode, and despite the removal of the turbine, the dynamics of the car will be maintained and even improved.
