Saturday, April 24th, 2010

Opel AmperaBy Opel decided to demonstrate the reliability of its electric model Ampera, drive by car on foot from the town of Rüsselsheim, in the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show. The prototype was charged today with electricity for the first time recently installed at the headquarters station of Opel. Elektromobilat with extended run autonomously, Ampera will use energy from lithium-ion battery accumulating capacity of 16 kWh to make his first trip of 600 kilometers from Rüsselsheim, Germany to Motor Show in Geneva, Switzerland. Behind the wheel of the car will be Director of the Division for the deployment of electric cars, the Opel / Vauxhall Korsini Gerard, who said: “I really look forward to come first miles with our first prototype Ampera during this” virgin “test on public roads . Instantaneous electric 370Nm of torque under my right leg trip to Geneva, promises to be very interesting and almost complete silence.” Once traveled about 60 kilometers, and the battery is getting low, the internal combustion engine on board Ampera will start to produce the necessary energy for the rest of the journey. The electric car will have to find station with the ability to load electricity where it will stand for several hours to charge the battery before continuing their journey. In all cases Ampera will be able to move without harmful emissions and no restrictions are conventional electric. It may pass without interruption over 500 km before re-charging is included in the household mains or loaded with gasoline.
