Chevrolet Auto China sets 2010 as an intermediate step in preparation for the arrival of the Volt. The start today in Beijing exhibition will present the conceptual model electric Volt MPV5. Versatile five-seater crossover serve as a demonstration of the potential of the propulsion system Voltec, using the same basic technology for electric movement without harmful emissions such as Volt. Conceptual design of the Volt MPV5 takes styling and aerodynamic elements of the Chevrolet Volt. Front of the crossover is one of the most aerodynamic in its class, thanks to the closed grille and optimized in terms of bottom drag. Each of these elements improves the efficiency of the car and reduces fuel consumption. Fully covered bed of the vehicle, aerodynamic “shields” the elements of the suspension, tail lights, following the contours of the body, and specially optimized elements in the rear to reduce drag Volt MPV5. This very active approach to aerodynamic optimization enables extending the range in all-electric propulsion. However, the effectiveness was not the only goal in forming the exterior. Blue metallic paint creates a sense of modernism, and the two transparent parts of the roof and 19-inch wheels, whose design is inspired by those of the Volt, contribute to the sporty feel which creates style of Volt MPV5.
