HGV Training Prices

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

Honda NSXThe levels of HGV training will help you determine how much money you need saved for your training. You will definitely want to compare different companies in order to find the best prices for the different levels of training. By comparing companies you are able to find companies with proper certification and registrations like FTA, HSA, and DSA.
To begin, you have Class 2 or Cat C training. You must have a full licence in order to move on to the next level of training. You cannot have a provisional licence in Cat C. You will have to take this class which can be 600 to 1200 pounds depending on the location you go through.
Class 1 or Cat C+E is the next level of licensing. This category allows you to drive articulated trucks meaning tractor and trailer. The class 2 licence is for rigid vehicles. If you want to have more experience it is necessary to go through class 1 training. Furthermore, you will need to show your qualifications in order to go through the training.
CPC training is next on the list. You can take this before or after the Class 1, but you must have it. Any driver in the UK working for fleet companies needs to have the CPC training. If you are going to drive professionally it is important to follow the regulations. Regulations say you must have 35 hours of CPC training every five years. Companies are not going to hire you if you do not have this appropriate training. It is due to the mandatory regulation and the fact that they are currently scrambling to get their drivers through CPC that do not have it.
Given that you need Class 1 and CPC training you may pay 600 to 1200 pounds for both. Most often you will pay more if you combine both courses. These are generalised HGV training prices. You will definitely want to compare to see if one company offers something a little less regarding prices.
As you consider the type of training you want, think about options such as hauling dangerous goods. There is an additional training and licence where you can haul things like petrol or chemicals. These dangerous jobs pay better, though you have to go through an additional amount of training. If you want the best chance of being hired having full qualifications will make it possible.
